We will have two mid-term exams and one final; refer to Important Dates for the tentative exam schedule.

We will give a short quiz whenever we start a new topic or chapter. Typically, each quiz will be announced a week or so before with a reading assignment. The purpose is to test whether you did your reading assignments. The underlying idea is for you to read appropriate materials (sections or chapters of the textbook or other handouts) prior to the lecture.
