Doctoral Student Requirements: Must be a candidate for a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, as administered by the Department of Computer Science at UTEP Must have been in graduate residence at UTEP for one semester Must have completed at least 18 semester-hours of course work normally required for their degree Must have a GPA of at least 3.5 Master's Student Requirements: Must be a candidate for a Master's degree in Computer Science at UTEP Must have been in graduate residence at UTEP for one semester Must have completed at least 18 semester-hours of course work normally required for their degree Must have a GPA of at least 3.5 Undergraduate Student Requirements: Must be a candidate for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at UTEP Must have been in undergraduate residence at UTEP for one semester Must have completed at least 64 semester-hours of undergraduate course work in total Must have completed at least 18 semester-hours of Computer Science courses Must have a GPA of at least 3.2 Step 1 - Apply If you meet the above requirements, you should receive a letter from the Chapter President and Faculty Advisor. Once you receive your letter, you need to submit an on-line application. If you meet the above requirements and have not received a letter, please feel free to apply anyway. We have made every attempt to find all eligible candidates, but we may still have missed one or two. Step 2 - Send Your Transcript Request an interdepartmental transcript to be sent to: Dr. Karen Ward Computer Science RM 234 Interdepartmental transcripts can be requested at the Records Office in the Academic Services Building and should be free of charge. This should be completed by October 31, 2000. Step 3 - Pay Your Dues If accepted, you will be asked to pay a one-time-only lifetime membership fee of $35 to UPE by November 10, 2000. Payments will be accepted as late as November 17, 2000, but may not guarantee that you will receive your membership certificate at our Induction Ceremony. Step 4 - Attend the Induction Ceremony Attend our Induction Ceremony on December 2, 2000. (This date is subject to change.)
