The Master of Information Technology (MIT) is a new degree program offered by the UTEP Colleges of Engineering and Business Administration.  The program is designed to provide graduate students from any academic discipline with education in the application and management of information technology.

Mission

The program provides fundamental, application-level technical knowledge in the areas of computer fundamentals; database design, development and maintenance; computer networks; and the general management of information technology.

Goals

Upon completion of this professional degree program, graduates will be able to apply information technology tools and skills in their work environments.  The education provided by this program in the areas of information technology impact assessment and innovation will enable graduates to increase their organization productivity and to gain a competitive advantage.
