April 2012 - HiPerSys Member Adriana Contreras travels to Washington DC
Adriana Contreras, Secretary of the local IEEE CS Lead student chapter (since 2012), was the lead android developer of a the Engineering Challenges prize app for the National Academy of Engineers -- this project was assigned to the chapter by IBM. The app was selected to be used for a daily raffle at the USA Science and Engineering Festival -- it is meant to keep track of the engineering challenges a festival-goer has completed: after the completion of a challenge, the user scans a QR Code, which places a stamp on their screen; once 10 stamps are collected, the user is for an entry in the raffle. The link to the app is below. As a result of the successful development project, Adriana will be traveled to Washington, D.C. with fellow LEADers on April 27 to participate in the Festival
