Research

My main areas of interest:
  • constraint solving: symbolic-numeric algorithms aiming at enhancing the solving process, flexible/soft constraints
  • interval computations: more accurate evaluation of interval functions, handling uncertainty
  • optimization: global and local algorithms
  • bio-engineering: an intelligent system for gait therapy
  • multi-criteria decision making, and decision under uncertainty, combination with interval computations
  • non-square interval matrices For a more complete description of my work on these topics, please follow this link .

    Research group (CR2G):

Our Constraint Research and Reading Group currently consists of 5 students:
  • 3 Grad students: Carlos Acosta, Naga Suman Kanagala, and Christian Servin
  • 2 Undergrad students: Carlos Azcarate, Tonatiuh Mendoza We use to meet every week, in smaller group (basically per project), and once in a while as a group, to share our progress and questions, but also to discuss and review constraint-related topics.
The group webpage is available at CR2G.
This group is also responsible for a website dedicated to constraint solving, created by Geetanjali Mesineni (former Graduate student: graduated in July 2007), and now maintained by CR2G.

CR2G is a sub-group of the research group TRACS , Theoretical Research and is Applications in Computer Science. TRACS gathers together faculty and students interested in various fields of theoretical computer science and their applications, such as security, interval computations and constraint programming, multi-criteria decision making, bio-informatics.
