Susie and I visited a petroglyph site near Rincon, NM in August, 2007. Like other sites in southern New Mexico, the petroglyphs are from the Jornada Mogollon people, possibly with older petroglyphs from what is called the "archaic" period. This geometric design, along an arroyo scoured from the rock, suggests the waterfalls that would run when it rained.
