| South El Paso, April 23, 2006. The City of El Paso is considering an
urban renewal plan for South El Paso. This area is a thriving
commercial district because it is directly adjacent to the border with
Mexico. The neighborhood also contains interesting buildings, many
from the turn of the Twentieth Century. Early on a Sunday morning in
the spring of 2006, Susie and I photographed every interesting
building on South Oregon Street and South Mesa Street south of Paisano
Drive. Here are a dozen of these photographs, beginning with this
highly detailed brick building on the northwest corner of South Oregon
and Father Rahm.
