4310 Spring 2007.

1.  Extremely organized, but even more important, he has a great style.  It kept me motivated and looking forward to coming to class.  I am very vocal and have problems sharing in class, therefore I feel maybe as if those who do not volunteer to speak did not benefit as much.  My only suggestion is that after maybe realizing who it is that doesn't participate as much might be selected by the professor to speak rather than constantly going to be four or five of us who always do.  P.S. when going to talk of presentation, I do not feel it is polite to take notes and worry if that info will be on a quiz or test.

I assume that this is in reference to the technical presentation given by Google during the semester. Since the talk was given during class time and was directly relevant to the course, I asked students to attend and take notes.

2.  Entertaining informative, intimidating so difficult to approach. Near the end, frequently lack time to finish lectures. Exercises in class are always enjoyable though time-consuming.

3.  The notes for the class should be complete, so students don't have to spend time filling in the missing pieces and can focus on the instructor explanation.  More emphasis on how to use diagrams and reports to advance to the next step in development of the project.  A quick lesson on how to format documents properly.

4.  I fell that if we got a smaller project, the team will have a better experience in use.  I said this because I believe that the assignments (reports) are at sometimes to big; therefore, it leads the team to write a lot of information which is incorrect.  Having a smaller project will allow the teams to focus more on the correctness, and completeness of the reports.

5.  Don't skip slides on the PowerPoint presentations I like the way you tell jokes about what you are explaining and apply that to help us understand the concept.

It is not uncommon for us to run out of time discussing certain topics. I must make choices as to which material is most important. This is the main reason you want to take a course from someone familiar with the field: I can make judgments about what material is most important and what material, while interesting, can be skipped.

6.  I like his class he is well organized and sometimes fun.  He gives examples on each lecture and concept and provides help when needed.  He needs to be more approachable.  He is sometimes a little intimidating.

7.  A way to deal with nonworking group members is in dire need.  After trying to get my group members to contribute I have given up and allowed the work to fall in quality. There needs to be a way to help with this moral issue.  So that students don't get part out trying to do everything.

8.  Good class, overall, like the fact that we can get the slides before, but it would be great to be able to abounded them with WebCT end sure so me money.

9.  I like the way Dr. Roach teaches his class; he tries to be concise and goes straight to the point.  I have no negative comments about Dr. Roach, just one question … how come you don't always salute your students on the hallway.  After all, there students will be with you for a whole gear.

10.  Excellent way to teach a course.

11.  I really like the flow of the classes.  Very dynamic.  However, I would like Dr. Roach to give more examples about the documents that had to be turned in.

12.  Need to make sure your TA are on the same page.  Have gotten info from TA that when turned in you have said it was wrong.  Has happened several times.

13.  The class was okay I guess.  Having complete notes available would be nice. Please, no new material, the last day of classes.

14.  This class needs a lab in order to better facilitate group meetings.  The requirement work for this class overloads groups who have schedule conflicts to point where the other subjects to a point where the other subjects and studies devastatingly.  If that is even a word.  I'm not even going to mention what it does to your personal life.

15.  In my opinion and perspective Dr. Steven Roach is an excellent person, professionally and as a human.  I learned a lot from this course.  I want him to know that this class was interesting, and he is a really smart professor, he knows what he is talking about.

16.  The class was interesting but difficult.  I enjoy the in class mat heads of group work.  In this class I have learned how to really working in a team and how to difficult that can be.  The only negative comment I have is the Dr. Roach's sense dry sense of humor.  In the beginning of class it was differently to determine if Dr. Roach was serious or being sarcastic.  Once you get used to it that the class id okay, but it made me very hesitant to ask and answer questions during class.

17.  Last semester I was regretting to be a CS this class showed me that there's more to CS than just typing there's thinking I really like that.  This is kind of corny, but Dr. roach, you are the best professor that I have had.  See you then in SEII.

18.  I would like to have more information about what we needed for projects.  Better templates or an example of a good report.  And also examines a little bit smaller.  I knew the material, but I didn't have enough time to make it right.
