CS 1401 Assignment #2

Date Assigned: Thursday, September 8, 2005 or Friday, September 9, 2005.

Due Date: correspondingly, Thursday, September 15, 2005, or Friday, September 16, 2005, before the beginning of your lab section.

Goals: The goals of this assignment are to learn hands-on the basic Java notions such as objects, variables, strings, assignment, input, output, etc.

Points: This assignment is worth a total of 20 points. No late assignments will be accepted, but credit will be given for partially completed assignments turned in on time.

Assignment: More and more jobs require a graduate degree in Computer Science. We hope that you will seriously consider graduate school as one of your options after getting your Bachelor degree. It is never too early to start preparing for it.

Let us start with designing a program that would help students apply for different graduate programs.

Design an application class that will do the following:

      (university name)

  have just received a Bachelor degree in Computer Science
  from the University of Texas at El Paso. I am very much interested in
  studying further, and I would therefore like to apply for 
  your graduate program.
