CS 1401 Assignment #2
Date
Assigned:
Monday, January 28 or Tuesday, January 29, 2008.
Due
Date:
Monday, February 4, or Tuesday, February 5, 2008, before the beginning of your
lab section.
Objective: The main
objective of this assignment is to practice using input, output, arithmetic
operations, and operations with strings.
Programming assignment: To ease the
parking space problem, the university is proposing to build a second parking
garage on Mesa Street. The cost for this
parking garage is expressed as a price per square foot of parking space, with space
for ramps or other structures built into the price. Let us assume that the price per square foot
for this new garage is $54.00. Each car
requires a 10 foot by 20 foot parking space.
Your program should compute the estimated total price of building a new
parking garage based upon the number of cars entered. It should print out a message stating the
proposed name for the new garage, the number of cars entered, and the total
cost of building the garage based upon the number of cars entered.
Specifically, your program should:
Example: Suppose that a user
of your program enters 550 cars. Then, the
cost is computed as 550 (number of cars) * 200 (square feet per car) * $54.00 (cost
per square foot). The cost of the garage
is then $5,940,000.00.
